Welcome!

I’m Anna. It seems you’ve stumbled upon my little spot here in the webisphereThis is where I talk travel, dream chasing, and living our best lives. (Yes, I said our, because we’re in this together now.)

You don’t need to go crazy and quit your 9 to 5 to travel full time like I did (or maybe you do. If that’s the case I won’t judge). But if there’s a dream you’re scared of chasing, or a purpose you’re nervous about stepping into I have news for you. It can be done! I am living proof.

Psstt…

If you’re here to hire me for my email marketing and copywriting prowess (or to learn more about email marketing) you’ll want to go to afiwimarketing.com. Otherwise, stick around. This is where all the fun stuff goes down.

It’s only impossible until it’s done.

Prior to 2017, I had never traveled further than North America & the Caribbean. I had big dreams but I was too scared to make them happen. Then for my 32nd birthday vacation, I visited Asia and something had to give. A lot has happened since then and I can’t wait for what the future holds!

6 Visa-Free Asian Countries for Jamaicans

6 Visa-Free Asian Countries for Jamaicans

It is no secret that Southeast Asia and South America are two of the more affordable regions to travel to if you’re on a budget. Incidentally, both regions have quite a few visa-free countries for Jamaican passport holders that make them both good options for budget...

Traveling While Black

Traveling While Black

When you’re born and raised in the Caribbean there are elements of your identity that you take for granted. Your Blackness is more of a simple fact than an indictment on your character. It hardly defines you. Sure, within the Caribbean space we have our own set of...

Dear Usain & Bob

Dear Usain & Bob

Usain Bolt, wherever you are, I owe you. I also owe Bob Marley but what with him gone I think it's fair to write that one off. Traveling through Asia has been that much more interesting because of you both. It's already an interesting experience being Black in Asia,...

Your Jamaican Passport is More Powerful Than You Think

Your Jamaican Passport is More Powerful Than You Think

Contrary to popular belief, the Jamaican passport is not as ‘useless’ as many would have you believe. If you’re one of the many Jamaicans who thinks our passport is one of the weakest in the world I've got news for you. The Henley Passport Index (their website is a...

On Parents and Chasing Dreams

On Parents and Chasing Dreams

The people we love - particularly parents - love us in their own way, even if not in the way we need them to. They are doing the best they can and they often mean us well, even if it seems sometimes like they are trying to deter us from our dreams. See, they can’t see...

How Not to Pack for 8 Months Abroad

How Not to Pack for 8 Months Abroad

Every time I approach the check-in counter for a flight I secretly pray that I will have some good karma for all those overweight bags I let slip by on my watch while working the check-in counter in my former life as an airline agent. So far, the universe has...

Visiting Dubai on a Jamaican Passport

Visiting Dubai on a Jamaican Passport

I figured I'd write this post since I've gotten quite a few questions on visiting Dubai. For many, the pull of the country is its opulence and grandeur. Dubai boasts the world's tallest building and the biggest and grandest of everything measurable (ok, not...

A Day in Hong Kong

A Day in Hong Kong

When I mentioned to a friend I had met over dinner that I would be going to Hong Kong next (we were sitting in a Korean Barbecue restaurant on Jeju island in South Korea) she wrinkled her nose and asked, "For what?" She was from Hong Kong and as tends to be the case...

On Overthinking

On Overthinking

Do you ever have moments where you overthink? You’re going along just fine, then it happens. Your mind decides to be your own worst enemy, because it’s simply not enough that you have external detractors. It just has to have a stake in the game too! They say we’re our...

Instagram

This is probably the best place to catch me as I try to post regularly and I’m super responsive to comments and DMs. Also, I like to think I drop gems in my captions. You be the judge.
